For HERD Foundation ‘good health for all’ means ensuring that healthcare is within reach for all of us. We make sure that meds needed for maintaining good health get delivered easily to all, especially to the underprivileged and less well-to-do. It is for this reason that we are busy creating a network of HERD Pharmacy stores in nooks and corners of the city, so that health products and services are readily available.
Of course we lay equal stress to continually inspire everyone to take good health care so as to prevent sickness in the first place. But if one does fall sick then they should readily get much needed medicines. HERD Pharmacy is a recent venture that allows people to get ready access to common remedies as well as special medications. Seeing everyone living in optimal condition is the aim and for this we facilitate access to prescription medicines.
The vision is that no person goes without medications for inability to get them immediately. We therefore introduced tele-calling facility and even online requests so that people do not suffer endlessly. With deals, discounts and other facilities we are increasing outreach of pharmacy products. Access to medical products and equipment is part of our effort to facilitate outreach of required tablets or capsules.
HERD Pharmacy is keen to ensure that everyone can buy essential medicines as part of their right to the highest attainable standard of health. This is a well-founded international law. The right to health first emerged as a social right in the World Health Organization (WHO) Constitution in 1946. Subsequently the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 also assured that medication should be available for all.
The binding International Covenant on Economic, Social, and Cultural Rights of 1966 also confirm this realization that right to health includes access to health facilities, goods and services. HERD Foundation takes this principle of accessibility and availability very seriously. And so we continue creating a network of HERD Pharmacies at strategic spots in the city so that no person may be denied their right to medication.
