Inauguration of Fourth HERD Pharmacy

HERD Pharmacy, an emerging chain of medical stores in Nagpur is a unit of HERD Group of Companies that launched several disparate new businesses few years back. In the space of two years HERD Pharmacy has set up four medical stores across Nagpur. Located in Ravi Nagar, Gayatri Nagar, and Hazari Pahad, this fourth medical store opens up in the busy Khamla Square section of the city.

Spread over 1000 sq. ft. over a double storey structure having a mezzanine floor it has fairly larger premises with plentiful space. The newly spruced up store was inaugurated at the hands of Mr Abhishek Jain, in the presence of HERD staff members and parents of Dr Amol and Dr Suchika Deshmukh. The team had spared no effort in putting up a wonderfully welcoming display on the premises, replete with suitable décor for the inaugural ceremony.

HERD Pharmacy will be treating the place like a wellness destination for the residents spread in the thickly populated areas around. In time the plan is to set up a physician’s chamber upstairs who will cater to the health issues of customers so that the Pharmacy offers more complete services. Plus the medical store has a number of innovative deals which will help us leap ahead in no time to come.

HERD Pharmacy aims to compete with top players in the surrounding area and will leave no marketing strategy untouched to persuade customers to come through its doors. It is being planned to provide customers with a worry free pharma shopping experience. Aside from medicines and medical products the pharmacy offers various general well-being products and self-care cosmetic goods on its shelves.

Khapa Medical Healthcare Checkup Camp

“Doctor Aaplya Daari”

Overwhelming response to Khapa Medical Camp held on February 2, 2017 at Jijamata High School, Khapa brought 1050 people who were checked for medical conditions by the team of doctors and specialists brought to their doorsteps by HERD Foundation. Exactly 110 patients later received referrals for follow up to their medical conditions. Alongside a blood donation camp was organized that had 17 people donating blood.

HERD Foundation conducted the free medical camp for rural men, women, children and aged people of village Khapa and other surrounding villages. Many people from adjoining villages came over for the free camp. People had begun gathering in groups just as the team arrived to set up the logistic arrangements at the venue where the medical camp was undertaken.

Organized under the slogan “Doctor Aaplya Daari” meaning Doctor at Your Doorstep, the event started at 10:00 am to continue till 02:00 pm until late afternoon. It provided free medical checkups to nearly 1050 people. An important feature of the camp was that besides active medical treatment it emphasized on the importance of self-care, hygiene and preventive measures especially with the summer season to begin shortly.

Among the general ailments the medical team treated patients for certain specific health conditions that included typical cases like pre-cancerous stages, candidiasis, renal calculi, lower back pain, spondylosis, orthopedic, gynecology, de-addiction cases and so on. A large number of children too were checked for seasonal ailments. The Foundation took the opportunity to distribute notebooks for school going children.

The PSM Department of NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital brought the team of doctors, interns, nurses and attendants of eight different departments of the institute to examine and treat patients. These included medics from Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Dental and ENT Departments.

HERD Foundation volunteers had earlier mobilized villagers with the view to inform them about the medical camp and upon arrival were assisted to understand norms for arrangements to be followed for smooth procedural flow. Dr. Amol Deshmukh, MD HERD Foundation along with staff was personally present to see all arrangements were up to the mark.

HERD Foundation’s social objective is to provide medical relief for poor and needy and this was effectively taken care of. Dr. Amol Deshmukh continues to play a key role in contributing for medical welfare of rural people. His proactive role provides comprehensive medical outreach as per his goal to ensure that medical care reaches the last mile.
